Memorial Day, originally known as Decoration Day, is a day set aside to honor those who not only fought for our country, but also sacrificially, gave their lives for the United States of America.
During my “Breakfast with God” this morning, my heart felt convicted as I thought about the way our soldiers lives ended. Grandfathers, fathers, brothers and uncles who spent their final moments defending our rights. Most, denied the opportunity to express their love and bid farewell to their families and loved ones. My heart began to soften as I held this picture in my mind and thought about the selfish nature of our hearts. Our tendency to gripe or complain when time is required to complete tasks that we consider to be menial or mundane.
