As I mentioned in the video, the perfect foundation match is one that matches the color of your face and neck although some people choose to select a darker foundation that is closer match to their chest. This is a pretty controversial subject among MUA however, I choose to use the rules of color theory and match the face so that any imperfections in the skin are not magnified. (dark makes things recede, therefore any fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, etc. will look deeper than they really are)
Below is a photo that was taken during Estee Lauder's foundation match study where they selected 5200 women worldwide to determine statistics on foundation matching. The study concluded that 96% (8 out of 10 women) were wearing the wrong shade of foundation. As you can see from the images below, when a darker foundation is applied to the face it ages the face tremendously.
In the video below I will show you how to properly apply bronzer to the face so that the color is warmer and will blend better with the color of the chest. Typically I will follow my application of bronzer with blush and highlighter for additional dimension that looks very natural and even.
Remember, always blend your makeup so that there are no lines of demarcation indicating where color starts, stops or changes.
